FIRST EDITION. 12mo. (14)15-297p. Frontispiece black and white drawing plus five full-page black and white drawings by Beth Krebs Morris. Green cloth with black letters on the front cover and the spine. Wear to extremities with the corners just barely rubbed through, top and bottom of spine starting to fray, green cloth slightly faded, spine sunned, else very good to near fine with all illustrations present and in fine condition. No dust jacket. Born in Argentine, Kansas, Louise Platt Hauck [1883-1943] in 1915 began writing for newspapers and magazines. She published over sixty novels, many of them for girls and boys, using a number of pen names, in addition to her own, including Peter Ash, Louise Landon, and Jean Randall. CHERRY PIT is one of her earlier novels.
