Item description from seller

First UK printing (1949) of this Inspector Littlejohn series, produced by John Gifford as opposed to the Thriller book club's later versions. Blue boards are unfaded, with mild bumping and shelf wear to spine ends and corners, slightly cocked but still tightly bound. No inscriptions, tears, folds or pages adrift, though there is some spotting to endpapers and all pages have toning, particularly those near the front. A decent, solid book at a decent, solid price! Thanks for looking.

Store description

I'm fascinated by vintage books, and the thought of where they've spent their lives! I particularly like book illustrations from 40s, 50s & 60's, and have a collection of books by, and illustrated by, Edward Ardizzone.
