Item description from seller

A first thus edition copy of Rudyard Kipling's 'The Brushwood Boy'; copiously illustrated throughout with charmingcoloured plates. This story first appeared in 'The Century Magazine' in 1895 and was originally published in book-form in 1898 as part of a collection of stories entitled 'The Day's Work'. This 1907 edition of the work was the first time the tale appeared separately and in isolation from other works. Collated, complete with twelve beautiful colour plates by the renowned British illustrator and cartoonist Frederick Henry Townsend. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally smart, with slight bumping to extremities and head and tail of spine. Fading to spine, with the occasional mark to boards. Front hinge strained. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean, with sections of spotting to the occasional page. Very Good.
