His writings have appeared in almost every major magazine and he has written several books, including Rogues to Riches, The Man Who Stole Portugal, and a novel, The Thirteenth Man (which was made into a film "The Last Embrace"). He is one of the founders and past president of the American Society of Journalists and Authors. Bloom is a 1937 graduate of Columbia College. Overall, a handsome copy of this rather scarce and much sought after work. Minor shelf/edge wear, ex-libris (stamp at front pastedown and title page, pocked at ffep), small ghost mark at rfep, else tight, bright and unmarred. DJ shows light shelf/edge wear, two small tape lift marks at flaps, else bright and clean. Black cloated cloth boards, gilt lettering. 8vo. 364pp.
