This offering is a vintage copy of Breaking Sod on the Prairies - A Story of Early Days in Dakota written by Clarence W. Taber and illustrated by Edward J. Boecher. The book was published by World Book Company in 1925 and appears to be a First Edition though it is not specifically stated as such. It's NOT ex-library copy and it is in very good condition but has no dust jacket. Also - it does have the name of a previous owner written atop the front loose end page. The book is 5 1/2" by 7 7/8" and had 292 pages with some advertising of similar books at the end of the book - an Author's Foreword - a Table of Contents and black-and-white illustrations scattered throughout the book . "The characters of the story - were real persons; and the events related are all true in all of their essential details. In a word - this little volume presents a realistic picture of the pioneering of our northern prairie lands." Thank you.
