First Edition (first printing). 8vo. 336pp. Decorated cloth, lettered and ruled in gold at the spine. With a half-title decoration, a double-spread title page decoration and over seventy plates and chapter header and footer decorations. A hint of spotting to the top edge and toning to the free endpapers. A very good copy in colour pictorial dust wrapper designed by the author, non-price-clipped but a little rubbed and nicked at the spine ends and corner tips, lifting a little at the margins and with several small fractions of loss and several short edge-tears. The semi-autobiographical debut novel by the noted artist, and the founder of 'kitchen sink realism'. Seller Inventory # BC16834
