Thick folio. Consisting of 97 real photographic Woodbury type plates. Some scattered spotting to a few margins. In a magnificent contemporary binding, probably by Bickers, of full red morocco over thick wooden bevelled boards, the covers with elaborate gilt decoration comprising multiple borders of fillets, dots, rope-chain and other tools, with a thick elaborate inner border of floral stems and a central diamond shaped lozenge of the same floral stems. The spine has five thick raised bands and most attractive gilt in compartments. There are a couple of blemishes to the front and rear boards but the joints are sound and both boards well attached.
