Item description from seller

An environmental fable that Crew had written and placed in the proverbial bottom draw until working colleague and illustrator Watkins bought his eye and magic fingers to bring it to life. The whole, with publisher Penguin's cover design in put, is a wholly satisfying read. The illustrations are a diverse mixture of nineteenth century engravings and more contemporary art.

Store description

FTL is the natural outgrowth of 30 years as a professional University Reference Librarian with a knack for collection building. To promote Sf and F in my corner of the world we created a weekly radio show (The Faster Than Light Radio Show) to review Sf and F and the wider popular cultural (milieu). As a result for 25 years I have handled and collected this literature accumulating much personally and making lasting contacts with Sf and F authors, collectors and readers. I have been awarded the A Bertram Chandler Award for services to the Australian SF Community with which I am actively involved. I have also been heavily involved in the local branch of the Children's Book Council of Australia of which I am an honorary life member. With Faster Than Light Enterprises we are offering our expertise and materials to the widest audience - reaching you. Please use our e-store to ask queries and chase half remembered materials. I also sell OZ Teen and YA material, particularly media related (film and TV tie-ins) and comic book material. My particular strengths are for material from the 1960's, 1970's and the 1980's. I also have many OZ SF and Comic book fanzines of the same period.
