Chesterton (*Vanity Fair*), Andre Maurois (*Madame Bovary*), Bernard DeVoto (*Tom Sawyer*), and Christopher Morley (*The Life of Tristam Shandy, Gent.*). Likely an advertising piece; each preface ends with a complimentary description of the Limited Editions Club book it was pulled from, and the final leaf is an application form.
