This book is sure to become the standard work on English Rugby, containing as it does match-by-matche accounts of every official international played by England since the formation of the Rugby Football Union in 1871. Bwginning with the first encounter with Scotland on 27th March 1871, and ending with the last match of the 1981-82 domestic season, a full match report and team line-ips are given for each of the 370 internationals played. No work on English Rugby would be complete without a comprehensive records section and of particular interest to researchers will be the players' individual career records, where their full scoring details are available at a glance. In addition, match, season and career records are given to a depth unmatched by any other punlication. These, taken in conjunction with the match-by-match accounts and some seventy historic photographs, make this book an invaluable reference book for Rugby followers the world over and a major contribution to the history of the game.
