About this Item
First edition. 298 pp. Bound in publisher's red cloth with gilt lettering. Darkening to spine lettering, a few minor blemishes to cloth, else Fine. Contents clean and bright. Lacking extremely scarce dust jacket, but otherwise a superb copy. The American compiler of the absurd and inexplicable's very first book, quite rare, especially in such nice shape. A major yet still largely sub rosa influence on science fiction as a genre and the study of the paranormal. Fort famously studies "damned" data-- reputed occurrences which defy scientific explanation, widely held assumptions about the universe, and sometimes even logic itself-- that has been ignored and neglected.
