Appears to be a true 1st edition, 1st printing (although not stated explicitly in text). Illustrations by Lillian Hoban. Hardcover with dust jacket (DJ). DJ condition is Good, book condition is Good+. Endpages and adjacent pages toned, with some stray small foxing spots. Pages are bright, clean, and clear of writing, markings, highlighting, etc. Hinges sound. Binding fairly tight. Binding thread visible in gutters of pages. Hardcover boards have spotting, dark discoloration (see photos). Top/bottom edges of boards lightly bumped in many spots. Hardcover boards are a bit incongruent/askew. Board corners bumped and curling in a bit. Top/bottom of spine bumped. Notable rips on top corners of DJ, with smaller rips along edges and top/bottom of spine; DJ toned; DJ speckled along edges; DJ has a few minor dampstains; DJ flaps top edges bumped and creased; DJ front flap bottom corner cropped.
