Large 8vo, xxvii + pp444 complete with 2 b/w maps (one fold out), twelve pages of b/w photographic plates and 13 coloured plates with descriptive tissue guards, illustrated by D.M. Reid Henry with b/w illustrations throughout text. Hardcover with dust jacket. Unclipped DJ in protective sleeve in very good condition with a little rubbing to edges and a little marking. Original dark blue cloth binding with gilt titles to spine in very good condition with a little fading to gilt , a little rippling to front cover and a little shelf wear to top and tail of spine. Inside ,except for signature to front free end paper dated "1956", all pages and plates in excellent clean and bright condition. A very nice copy.
