Early C. S. Lewis title collecting his BBC radio talks, later incorporated as Book IV of Mere Christianity. This is the original 1944 Geoffrey Bles first edition in hardback, increasingly hard to find in complete, readable condition. Ideal for readers of Lewis or collectors building up the separate "Broadcast Talks / Christian Behaviour / Beyond Personality" first-edition set. Yellow cloth generally clean but with noticeable fraying/cloth loss on the spine near the author's name, light marks and rubbing; binding square. War-economy paper, pages evenly toned with a few scattered spots but overall clean and readable. Former owner's name and date "1944" on endpapers, and a Van Schaik's Book Store (Pretoria) label to the pastedown. No dust jacket. Please refer to photos. Free postage within the UK.
