A very good copy of the first hard cover edition, lacking a dust-jacket. Save for a five-line gift inscription in pencil on the front free endpaper the text is wholly unmarked, pristine, and the binding bright and fresh in appearance, though there is some slight smudging to the rear panel, and the author's last name has been written discreetly in ink midway down the spine. A lovely copy of the increasingly hard-to-find first edition.
