Brown cloth. 8vo. 54pp. Folding diagram. Historical poem about this key battle of the Second Punic War between the Roman republic and Carthage. The unattributed author was Henry Stump, a Criminal Court judge in Baltimore during the 1850s. The poem is dedicated to Major General Winfield Scott. The folding plan shows the relative position of the two armies. The covers are detached and have some spotting and edgewear and the spine is heavily chipped. The text is in worn but good condition. There is a bookplate on the flyleaf and some faint ink writing on the inside cover. The title page is browned with a few dark spots. The text has some scattered foxing and spotting. The diagram has some foxing and some ink writing on it as does its blank reverse side. A scarce piece.
