About this Item
1904 edition. Pictorial stiff wraps, approximately 9" x 11". Tape bound, unpaginated pages secured with two heavy staples, no rusting. Author is Jack Hemment, "The Famous Newspaper Artist and War Correspondent". Original printing from 1904, printed the same year as the fire. Some light fraying to top and bottom edges of white cloth tape binding. Some general smudging to white wrappers, with some minor wear and scattered light chipping. Pages staple bound but separated from spine. No loose pages. Frontispiece map printed on inside showing the Baltimore area affected by the fire. Eight foldout leaves, each with one wide format photo of a scene from Baltimore after the fire. 26 single page photos, and two pages with 4 photos each. Right hand edges of the leaves all extend out slightly beyond edges of stiff wrappers. The fold out leaves are folded slightly irregularly, so some extend out a little more than others. However all folds are solid with no splitting. Designed and published for the Illustrated Press Syndicate, NY. Seller Inventory # 000141
