This is a remarkable book describing the trials and thrills of studying butterflies in the field and giving stimulating views on a wide ange of entomological subjects. There is much to appeal to the field entomologist, because the author not only puts life on paper bu produces facts and ideas that will be new to many. Although there is nothing superficial about his studies, the book is written with obvous enjoyment of butterflies and the countryside where they live. Illustrated with eight beautiful colour plates by Mandy Shepherd. Ref YYY 2.
