All edges stained red, 96 pp.Privately published 1884 - by W.R.Creyke of The Colour Works Near Stoke on Trent and printed by J Hutchins Hanley. Good ( Moderate general shelf wear and soiling to cloth, previous owner name and address to front paste down snopaked out with pencil subsequent owner name above. glue to back strip failing as book block a little floppy but no cracks to end papers and sewing/ tapes sound. Occasional marginal soiling. No other notable defects). A scarce reference book which contains recipes as stated for pottery glazes etc. Of import. for the industrial heritage of the Potteries. The only copies we can find at time of listing are held by the British and Cambridge University libraries. W.R.Crekye was undoubtedly related to G.M.Creyke, who carried on business in partnership as G.M.Creyke and Sons as pottery decorators and 'metal mounters' in Hanley and formerly in business with Henry Boulton.
