Aimed at intermediate to advanced Pro/ENGINEER users working with Pro/PROGRAM, this book offers straightforward programming logic. It walks users through generating Pro/ENGINEER parts assemblies and creating Pro/Programs to control them. Includes advanced tips and techniques for creating and manipulating complex geometries. A companion CD-ROM contains hands-on Pro/PROGRAM demonstration files.
Review comments"Engineering Automation Report," May 1997
...[A] good reference book for experienced users who would like to
remove some of the repetitive steps out of their design process. We
recommend it.
All the examples used in the book (parts, assemblies, and programs) are
included on a compact disk held in the back cover. This is a big help since it
allows the user to pull up on the screen the example being discussed with
the requisite amount of detail. This eliminates the problem of the user not
understanding the simple steps which are not covered in the book.
Everything needed is on the CD.
Chapter 7 comprises the main value of the publication. It demonstrates
how to create a part so that it is easily adjustable (modifiable patterns
without failures). ...The following chapter covers how to use family tables
and interchange groups within a program. These techniques are great for
giving a novice user a great deal of flexibility in changing a design.
