On 20 December 1963, twenty-two former SS men were brought before the court for their role in the 'special incidents.' Most of them insisted that they merely carried out orders for their superiors. At the time it was the most important trial of Holocaust perpetrators conducted in West German courts. This has an 'introduction' by Hannah Arendt & was 'translated' by Jean Steinberg. With 27 'B & W' photographs. A 1st edition, with its dust-jack, in near to fine condition-'D.J' cover is marked & very slightly chipped, the book itself is in fine condition.
