Stated first published in 1948 by Viking. Hard cover with dust jacket (DJ). See photos for condition. DJ has many large rips, especially along edges, which have been repaired with tape on the backside (see photo). Back DJ flap appears to have been fully separated at some point. Brownish stain on middle of spine back. Some foxing on inside of DJ. DJ flaking on fore edges. DJ has some surface scratching. DJ light parts toned/darkened. Spine sunned. Hard cover boards in good shape. A few dings on the bottom edges. Fabric on top and bottom of spine has rubbed off - rip in fabric on bottom of spine near front board. Hinges tight. Toning to endpaper. Previous owner signature and pencil on ffep. Some widening in gutters on title page and last page. Some pages have small blemish dot marks. Otherwise, pages appear clean and clear of highlighting, writing, markings, underlining, or other notable damage or staining. Seller Inventory # ABE-1724784014884
