- 6 issues complete, in 84 pages, with the covers and ads bound in, some illustrations in one artlcle on nestlings, photographs - diverse articles on ornithology ( arguments amoung writers of the need to shoot a bald eagle or 5 male Connecticut Warblers just to get a look at them - a common practice, along with collecting all eggs from a nest or three ) field sports, adventures in the wilds, Native American culture, tools, smoking red willow bark, storms and bird distribution, all manner of amateur nature observation - the final issue # 6 was issued 4 months after the last monthly article, probably the usual financial difficulties of the small magazine - a rare complete set bound by the first owner distinguished Ontario Field Ornithologist R. D. Brooman [ he had this volume bound in three quarters red calf gilt, with his initials at the base of the spine ], also with the ownership stamp of Frank l. Farley, who observed birds near St. Thomas and then Camrose, Alberta and wrote about both, and finally this volume was owned by Ontario Field Ornithologiat Dr. George K. Peck - an esteemed provinance for a rare and obscure magazine. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.…
