First appearance of Vogt’s 26-page novelette The Mixed Men that would later be included in his 1952 fix-up novel of the same name. Also featured in this edition are Robert Abernathy’s The Canal Builders, E. Mayme Hull’s Enter the Professor, Frederic Brown’s The Waveries, and the second installment of Wesley Long’s [George O. Smith] Nomad. A. Bertram Chandler and Willy Ley contribute the articles The Perfect Machine, and They Were Dead. Ley’s article reports on Russian experiments that are alleged to have brought soldiers back to life. Very good with a few chips to cover edges. Standard tears at binding staple. Pages lightly toned.
