More than sixty exercises help you move from just thinking about making art to creating a positive art habit in your life. Illustrated by art students and contemporary artists, every unique work of art shows that when you create Art From Intuition, the possibilities are endless!" - from the rear outer cover. "You're only allowed to call yourself an artist if you actually make art. Dean Nimmer offers a treasure trove of artistic strategies for getting off the starting blocks and accomplishing exactly that." - Ted Orland, co-author of Art and Fear. "Nimmer knows all too well how resistances, fears, and insecurities are the gateways to our most personal wisdom and creative potential, and how most of us need help and inspiration when stepping into the unknown. I invite you to join him, let go, trust the process, and see where it takes you." - Shaun McNiff, author of Trust the Process. "This book gives us a very complete menu of ways and means for the vital job of learning to trust our instincts. Nimmer gives us great insight into the improvisational and dynamic dimensions of visual art." - Stephen Nachmanovitch, author of Free Play. "Anyone who employs the ideas and techniques in this book cannot help but invigorate their intuitive powers of expression .the independent studio artist, the art teacher at any grade level, and the amateur artist who desires a richer personal expression and wider range of expressive marks." - Peter London, author of No More Secondhand Art. "The projects are engaging and full of insight. Nimmer aims to encourage his students' 'inner voices' to emerge through the process of making art -- the same process students experience using the techniques in Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain." - Brian Bomeisler, teacher of "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" workshops. …

Store description
Vero Beach Books is an antiquarian bookseller with a constantly updated inventory of rare out-of-print books, signed books, children's books, plus a large inventory of ephemeral items such as major U.S. city newspapers going back 100 years and more, golden and silver age fine condition comic books (soon to be added), and many other ephemeral items as well as much more recent popular volumes. We have been in business for 25 years, originally known as Emerson Books (named after one of our owner's favorite authors, to wit, Ralph Waldo Emerson) located back then in Westport, Connecticut. That said, we are here to serve you, to offer you fine quality items that are conservatively described so that you will always be pleasantly surprised and delighted with your purchase. Twenty-five years in the bookselling business has borne out our stellar service oriented reputation; the only difference is that now we are located in the almost always sunny and warm climate of Vero Beach, Florida. Again, we are here to serve you and, as was the case when we were previously known on ABEBooks.com as Emerson Books, we will continue to offer our very popular 100% free search service for those hard to find books rare and out of print books. Oftentimes we are also able to obtain these rare finds at very good discounts to our customers' so it is always worth contacting us in such cases!
