Original blue cloth boards with bright silver titling on spine. Fantastic illustrated map endpapers of Greater Armenia along with 32 other b/w photographic plates in the rear. Book would be Fine except for a yellowing where a laid in newspaper clipping was and a very slightly bumped corner. The portion of the Dust Jacket that is here is Near Fine with bright orange colors, but. . . it's only the front cover and front flap. Still, a great copy of this important and very interesting book. It's a grouping of 5 lectures delivered in French in New York in 1942, translated and published for a general audience. From the foreword: "My principal purpose is to give a general picture of an art and civilization which are not familiar to most people. I hope, however, that students of East Christian and Medieval art will find in these pages useful information." Includes chapters entitled Historical Survey, Religious Controversies, Armenian Architecture, Armenian Sculpture, and Armenian Painting. While the entire text is in English, the Preface is in French.
