Mit Frontispiz, 81 weiteren Tafeln und 536 Textholzstichen. Einband insbesondere an den Kanten berieben und etwas bestoßen. Papier nur minimal gebräunt und stellenweise leicht fleckig. Hinteres fliegendes Blatt mit privat montiertem Papierschild (Titelaufnahme für Auktion). Insgesamt gutes bis sehr gutes Exemplar. Original half leather binding richly decorated in gilt, silver and black, moiré endpapers, and all edges gilt. First German edition with the illustrations by Gustave Doré. With frontispiece, 81 further full-page plates and 536 wood-engraved illustrations in the text. Binding rubbed and somewhat bumped, especially along the edges. Paper only minimally toned and occasionally lightly spotted. Rear flyleaf with a privately mounted paper label (auction catalogue entry). A near fine copy overall. Seller Inventory # 67108CB
