Esteemed Victorian architect William Tress's scarce, first edition copy of Christopher Davy's work on architectural precedents, in decorative cloth. A fascinating work by architect Christopher Davy on architectural precedents. Including eight distinct sections bound in one volume:I. Plans, Elevations, Sections, Specification, and the Bill of Quantities of Second Rate Building & Preliminary Observations, with eleven plates, collated and complete.II. Parochial Buildings, with nine plates, collated and complete. III. Prisons, with eleven plates, collated and complete.IV. Railway Works, with ten plates, missing plate ten. V. Chamberlain Hospital and Bedworth Hospital, no plates included. VI. Plans and Specifications for Repairs, Alterations, Etc., no plates included. VII. Specifications of the Steam Kitchen Apparatus, no plates included. VIII. Churches, no plates included.Including many other illustrations and diagrams throughout. Also including a preface and an errata to the rear. Inscribed to the title page head by William Tress, the architect best known for his buildings for the South Eastern Railway. Bound in decorative cloth. Externally, cloth binding faded, and a few marks to the boards. Externally, bumping to the head and tail of spine as well as to the extremities, resulting in a few tears to the cloth binding to the head of the spine. Previous owner's signature to the title page. Internally, front hinge strained but remaining firm. Internally, generally firmly bound. A few spots to the first and last few pages, otherwise pages are generally clean. Good Only.
