External edges are all gilt. Forest green pebbled cloth covered boards, green leather on fore-edge corners and spine. Decorative blind stamp edges on leather and gilt borders where it meets the cloth. 93 numbered pages. 25 of the 30 listed plates are present, as are 2 of the 4 illustrations. The text pages start at page 17. The missing (in text) illustrations are View of the Old Castle (p. 1) and Fountain, Veg. Market (p. 16). The missing plates are: Plan of Newcastle (fp), Fish Market, Merchants (p. 31), Custom House, Quayside (p. 33), St. Thomas Chapel (p. 54), and Eldon's Square (p. 60). Boards are scuffed, endpapers are a bit grubby. Internal age-toning, a few smudges, and some foxing, heavier around plates.
