Foreword by HRH Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy, GCVO. Published to coincide with the diamond jubilee of The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, Peter Ireson's book tells the fascinating story of guide dogs in Britain. In this book the author not only traces the history of the Association but he also recounts a host of heart-warming stories about the dogs and personalities who are such an important part of the book. In addition, he describes the development of the puppy breeding and rearing programme and how a dog is trained, and writes about the volunteers who do so much to raise funds. Guide dogs have brought independence to thousands of blind persons and this book is a fitting tribute to the dogs and the people who have contributed to their story. Illustrated. Price clipped. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions, Reference books ,and all types of Academic Literature.).…
