Green cloth with gilt spine titles, cover rules & decoration in black; 8vo; 340+2pp ads & 24 pp publisher's catalog at rear; brown end sheets; illustrated with frontispiece portrait, 4 full-page color plates; 1 double-page b/w plate, 1 map and 2 cuts within text. Based on Webster's many years angling for trout in the Rivers Tweed and Clyde. He fished with his loop-rod, a 13 foot, reel less rod, a horse-hair line and even longer gut leader, often with 9 spider flies and fished them upstream- naturally! An interesting and important work. This copy in good condition with a tear across head of spine plus a snag near tail of spine; corners lightly bumped; former owner's bookplate affixed to front pastedown. Internally clean with all plates bright. Not all copies contain the catalog at rear.
