First edition. Small octavo. 174pp. Rebound in later 19th-century light brown linen stamped in black (with binder's ticket of "John Haynes/ Bookbinding of Every Description. White Plains." on rear pastedown, and retaining the original floral endpapers. A very good copy with tanning and foxing in the text with a number of short tears and few small chips; title page and a few pages of text have early archival mends. The Morgan Library has the original manuscript for a contemporary review of Lucretia Maria Davidson's *Amir Khan, and other poems* cited as: "autograph manuscript, printer's copy for the "Quarterly Review". Prints poems by Davidson; and the text includes a biographical sketch of the author, with information about her parents, by Samuel F.B. Morse. "Davidson was praised, with varying levels of enthusiasm, by such notable figures as Edgar Allan Poe, Robert Southey, Marceline Desbordes-Valmore and Catharine Maria Sedgwick." [from Wikipedia].
