From the Publisher
When you want information on diabetes self-care, you usually have to turn to several books, each covering a different topic. Finally, all areas of self-care are covered in the pages of a single volume. You'll learn all about symptoms and causes...diagnosis and treatment...handling emergencies...complications and prevention...achieving good blood sugar control...and more. You'll also discover advice on nutrition, exercise, sex, pregnancy, family life, travel, coping, and health insurance. Prepared with the guidance of a panel of leading diabetes clinicians and researchers, this book offers the most authoritative and up-to-date information available. Its easy-to-read style and format make it perfect both as an introduction for someone just diagnosed with diabetes or as a reference for someone who has had diabetes for some time. Publishers Weekly said, "A model of clarity in prose and design, this overview effectively helps its readers pursue the goal of `living well with diabetes.' "
