First printing. No additional dates. Te book is bound in black linen with title and editor in gilt on the spine. The corners are sharp and the binding square and tight. Fore-edges are rough-cut. There is a tiny ding on the top edge of the front cover. name of previous owner on the first free end paper. Otherwise, pages are lightly age-toned, clean, smooth and unmarked.The price-clipped dust jacket is in very good condition with darkening of the spine, and light chipping wear on the top edges of front and spine panels and the corners. The author was an American humorist dubbed the Aesop of Indiana. The editor was one of the 20th century's greatest humorists and the writer and narrator of the semi-autobiographical movie " A Christmas Story". 283 pages.
