Item description from seller

Front and back covers retain strong color but show visible chipping at the tail and fore-edge. Interior pages toned but fully intact; binding tight. Features "The Fall of Mercury," a complete novelette by Leslie F. Stone, one of the earliest women writing regularly in science fiction, known for exploring political themes in space operas and thought experiments. Also includes "The Symphony of Death" by Raymond A. Palmer?years before his tenure as editor of Amazing Stories, as well as contributions from L.A. Eshbach, co-founder of Fantasy Press, and A.W. Bernal, a biophysicist whose fiction is informed by deep scientific knowledge. Notable for collectors interested in early science fiction by women and the cultural development of pulp-era sci-fi.
