In this work, scientists involved in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence known as SETI explain their work and reveal their thoughts.
Adrian Gilbert is well-known in the field of speculative investigation of the pyramids. With Robert Bauval he wrote
The Orion Mystery, which argued that the three pyramids at Giza deliberately mirror the stars in Orion's Belt. Although this correlation has been challenged by others in the field, Gilbert Stands by it in
Signs in the Sky.
The book is narrated as a personal odyssey, starting with Gilbert's first trip to Israel in 1972, and following through his later visits to the pyramids and the Holy Land. We are shown his process of discovery over the years, as pieces fall into place in his developing theory: that measurements of the pyramids, with certain biblical texts, can be interpreted astrologically. It's an interesting theory, which some readers will find convincing. Gilbert concludes that Jesus was born on 29 July 7 BC, and was baptised by John the Baptist on 6 January 26 AD, having spent much of the intervening time in Egypt, where he probably learnt the secrets of esoteric philosophy.
Various astrological conjunctions in the year 2000 suggest that we are in the End Times, prophesied in the Bible. Gilbert believes that the end of this current age will occur in 2018; unlike many other prophets, however, he sees this in a positive rather than a negative light: "it is clear that we are living at the birth of a new age of man". --David V Barrett
