Boston: Lothrop Publishing Company, 1898. This is a Very Good (Plus) copy of the First American Edition; in a variant green decorative cloth binding. Stamped on the front cover in black and yellow with a scene of two hunters and a lion in the jungle [{Quercus notes that one hunter has a smoking barrell but the lion dos not appear bothered - did he miss?]. Clean text; 111 pages. Frontis illustration and one other within. Spine has darkened to brown but th black titling is perfetly readable. There is cracking at page 80 (at the second illustration) but is holding well. . First American Edition. Decorative Cloth. Very Good (Plus)/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
