Two deluxe hardcover trade editions: paired novellas collaboration from two superior storytellers; Paolo Bacigalupi and Tobias S. Buckell. Both are fine, new, clean, crisp and unread stated first editions in fine dust jackets protected in new, clear Brodart covers. Both books are elegantly illustrated by J. K. Drummond. Bacigalupi has authored The Alchemist and Buckell The Executioness. The two fantasies take place in the world of magic-riddled Khaim where this use of magic and spell-casting has blighted the land with poisonous impenetrable brambles. I hope these stories will continue soon as they read like a beginning to a much longer narrative.
