I am pleased to offer: The Airmen by Selden Rodman- a narrative poem of singular power that celebrates the aspirations and achievements of flyers from Icarus to the pilots of our own time. This small hard cover book (5 ¾ x 9 ½ inches 148 pages) was published by Random House of New York dated 1941 and the First Edition with the same date on title and copyright pages. The book is a poem in four parts each opening with some imagery alluding to the theme and introductory and/or short statements of the argument of the section printed in red. The book is bound in a combination of maroon and beige oatmeal cloth with maroon titles on the spine; it is protected by a printed paper dust jacket. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The dust jacket shows some edge wear particularly along the top edge but nothing too serious. It also has a darkened band along the ½ inch or so of the top and to the spine. The hard covers are clean and unbumped but the oatmeal cloth conceals what may be tiny blemishes (or not). Inside the book is unmarked and the pages are clean and devoid of toning or foxing. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. Seller Inventory # 66
