Closer in feeling to our own time than Homer, Virgil in this poetic rendering speaks directly to the modern reader, revealing at once why "The Aeneid" has remained a centerpiece of Western civilization through the centuries & making us once again shed tears for human affairs: for Dido & Aeneas, Camilla, Turnus. In Fitzgerald's hands "The Aeneid" becomes both an exciting new adventure & a profound poetic experience. * SHIPPING: MNEMOSYNE carefully wraps, labels & packages this fine book w/ our greatest elegance & care for FREE shipment via USPS MEDIA MAIL within the United States & its territories or via USPS PRIORITY MAIL for a below cost fee of $16.00 w/ shipping to all international destinations via USPS FIRST CLASS MAIL at our posted rates.
