Choosing the right type can be one of the hardest parts of any designer's job. There are thousands of available fonts from which to choose. Now available in bookstores for the first time, this comprehensive reference guide makes it easy to choose from the vast selection of over 2,750 typefaces from the Adobe Type Library, one of the largest and most respected collections of type available. This book displays the characters or each typeface, plus useful reference charts with standard expert character sets for Windows and Mac OS. It's organized both alphabetically and by style, with an easy-to-use quick reference which shows what a font looks like and where to find it within the book. This type library reference features typefaces from internationally renowned foundries and award-winning type designers. Readers will learn the distinguishing characteristics of different styles--from a graceful Grotesque to simple sans serif--as well as the ins and outs of OpenType and MultipleMaster, ornamental type, symbols, historical facts, and more.
