As mentioned elsewhere, somewhere along the line I acquired a box of books about the great state of New Hampshire. They need to get back to the State. Who's interested? Here is a neat little vintage hard cover titled: "An Address at the Dedication of the Public Library of Rye, New Hampshire" by Dr. John W. Parsons. Apparently, and according to the Preface to this small book, Dr. Parsons made the address as planned but passed away before he could arrange to have his address published. It seems that his widow (or was it his daughter?), Mary Augusta Parsons, had this book published. No doubt it is a rare book as it was "privately printed" and no account of it can be found online. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The glassine dust jacket has some very slight edge wear including a rolled lower edge. The finely ribbed, dark blue hard covers are clean and bright, with bold gilt titles and are not bumped. Inside, the book is not marked and the pages are clean and bright except for the title page and tissue guard of the frontispiece which you will see in my photos which is stained by foxing (the tissue guard seems to be the culprit). The interior pages are clean and bright, with just some very minor and random specks of soiling. Both hinges are intact and the binding is tight and sound. This book should be in a library--the public library of Rye, New Hampshire.…
