1938. First [deluxe] edition. 71pp. plus 26 tipped-in black and white plates at the end of the book. All edges gilt. Boots is now a household name with stores all over the world and a number of hugely successful own-brand ranges. It?s risen from humble beginnings to become the well-known and loved company it is today. This book was published to commemorate the Jubilee of the Company and traces its history from its earliest days up to 1938. It is illustrated with 27 black and white plates showing some of its offices, shops and staff at work. The book is bound in the original blue full leather slightly bevelled board with gold titling on the front board and gold titling and designs with four raised bands on the spine. The book is in nearly new condition and is tight and clean inside with no inscription. There is no dustwrapper, probably as issued, but the book does come with a blue presentation, satin lined box. The box is in good to very good condition with shelf wear on the sides and rubbing to the corners. There is some splitting developing on the folding edge of the top of the box and some brown damp spotting to the lining.
