Hardcover. First British Edition. "[The authors] were convinced that the decision to withhold from Dr. Oppenheimer, one of America's most distinguished scientists, the security clearance which would enable him to continue as chief adviser to the Government on scientific matters, was a miscarriage of justice as unworthy of the fine traditions of the American past as the trial of Captain Dreyfus was unworthy of France. They contend that the parties to certain high-level disputes wanted Oppenheimer removed from his position of influence in these disputes. Includes a scrupulous analysis of the proceedings." - dust jacket. "J. Robert Oppenheimer (1904-1967) was an American theoretical physicist. He was director of the Manhattan Project's Los Alamos Laboratory during World War II and is often called the 'father of the atomic bomb'". - Wikipedia. 208 pages. Tight and unmarked with average wear to original red paper over boards. Somewhat above-average wear to dust jacket now in glossy new archival-grade protection. A sound example of this important account. Seidman A68. Seller Inventory # 441j1375
