First edition. Norman Lindsay cover illustration. White soft covers are foxed, discoloured and stained. It is creased in places, with small segments missing from two corners. There is a small 1cmx1.5cm hole in the center of the front cover, the missing fragment has been burnt out. There is a black smudge in this spot on the page on the following six pages. Spine is slightly torn. Page edges are discoloured, foxed and stained. Inverse of front cover contains sticker residue. Most pages are browned with age, many are foxed, and some are stained. Few pages are slightly creased. Few pages are stained brown and torn around the staple binding.
