Classic study by historian and Seattle District Engineer for the Army Corps of Engineers, General Hiram Martin Chittenden (1858 - 1917). First published in 1902; this edition is a reprint of the original text w/a few exceptions regarding typographic errors. The complete treatise is in 5 parts; the first two in Volume 1 (w/Foreword by James P. Ronda), and the last three in Volume 2 (w/Foreword by William R. Swagerly).
