Hardcover, bound in blue cloth titled within a white panel on the spine, laid into a blue & white dust wrapper. The covers are lightly bumped. The edges of the dust jacket are creased & chipped with tears to the head of the jacket's spine. xi [5] & 770 pages with a portrait frontispiece of Lincoln MacVeagh. Very good in a good dust wrapper. First edition. Inscribed on the verso of the endpaper to the Ambassador's widow: "To Bimbetta MacVeagh, whose trust and support made this book possible. / With my warmest regards, John O. Iatrides. New York City 26 Sept 1980." Additionally laid into the book is a postcard to Mrs. MacVeagh from Iatrides writing from Greece and expressing his belief that the book will soon be published.
