Item description from seller

Twelve quarto issues (28cm); mimeographed and offset-printed sheets, side-stapled into illustrated covers; unpaged; illus. Light wear to extremities, tiny corner creases to a few front wrappers, rear wrappers with varying degrees of toning and dust-soil, with a few staples showing oxidation; overall, a Near Fine set.Complete run of Larry Fagin's journal, which showcased the poetry, prose, and artwork of both the first and second generation New York School crowd. Printed on The Poetry Project's mimeograph machine, typically in runs of 300-350 copies. Fagin was well-connected and well-liked as a result of his work at St. Mark's, attending hundreds of readings over the years. "If I heard something I especially liked at a reading, I would rush to the podium and claim the manuscript for Adventures. I was rarely refused. Editing was a good way to make friends (Clay & Phillips, p.195). The journal included contributions by Ted Berrigan, Joe Ceravolo, Anne Waldman, Tom Clark, John Giorno, Allen Ginsberg, Peter Orlovsky, Ron Padgett, John Ashbery, Dick Gallup, John Giorno, Bill Berkson, Kenward Elmslie, Clark Coolidge, Tom Veitch, Robert Creeley, Gilbert Sorrentino, Aram Saroyan, Frank O'Hara, Bernadette Mayer, Joe Brainard, Philip Whalen, and others. No.2 contains the only appearance of several diary entries by Jim Carroll, which were never included in The Basketball Diaries. Cover artists include Joe Brainard, Ed Ruscha, Jim Dine, Rudy Burckhardt, Rory McEwen, Gordon Baldwin, George Schneeman, and an anonymous cover plastered with entries from a Tijuana Bible. A significant poetry journal, with complete runs exceedingly difficult to complete. Clay & Phillips, pp.194-197.
