THREE REPORTS for DEVELOPMENT of MISSION BAY, SAN FRANCISCO, 1985 - 1986. These show, in great detail, San Francisco's early attempts to develop Mission Bay. (1) COMMERCIAL BUILDINGS : PROTOTYPES FOR MISSION BAY / MISSION BAY SAN FRANCISCO. Prepared by ELS / Elbasani & Logan Architects and Kwan-Henmi Architects, September 16, 1986. Printed paper covers, plastic spiral bound, 8.5x11 inches, photocopied pages printed on both sides, unpaginated (approximately 300 pages?). Contains 100s of examples of the type of commercial buildings that were being considered for construction in the commercialization of Mission Bay. Each building was an actual operating business located somewhere in the Bay Area. There is a fact sheet on each building with details on its structure, size, lease cost, current tenant, accessibility, occupants, etc. Illustrated with photos (photocopied) of many of the prototype buildings. (2) BACKGROUND AND PRELIMINARY FINDINGS REPORT / MISSION BAY SAN FRANCISCO. Published by the San Francisco Planning Department, and prepared by EDAW Inc.; ELS / Elbasani & Logan Architects; Kwan Henmi Architects; Carl Anthony & Associates; et al, November 8, 1985. Printed paper covers, plastic spiral bound, 8.5x11 inches, photocopied pages printed on both sides, approximately 220 pages (pages numbered in sections). Illustrated with 32 MAPS / Figures. Sections Include: Existing Conditions; Prevailing Principles and Objectives; Opportunities and Constraints. (3) SCOPE OF WORK for the MISSION BAY EIR (Environmental Impact Report). Prepared by ESA (Environmental Science Associates). Published by the San Francisco Department of City Planning, July 10, 1986. Printed paper covers, plastic spiral bound, 8.5x11 inches, photocopied pages, pages printed on one side only, 99 pages. Goes into great detail about how developing Mission Bay into a Commercial, Residential and sports Mecca might impact the environment (ya think?) All three reports are in generally GOOD condition, one has a number of stamps of Boyer Associates (architects); one has offsetting to the front cover; and one has stamps and a stapled-on business cards of ESA / Planning and Environmental Services, and paper clipped pages; and all may have a mark, note, or smudge or two that I missed. From the estate of Roger Owen Boyer, a San Francisco Bay Area architect whose firm designed a San Francisco skyscraper (456 Montgomery Street), houses in Carmel, and was involved in various Bay Area redevelopment projects.
