Offered is the 1944 Report of the Suffolk County Mosquito Extermination Commission published out of Yaphank, Long Island, New York. A stapled report measuring 6" by 9" and containing 20 pages including front and rear covers. The Contents are: list of the Executive Board; The Report For Fiscal Year Beginning November 1, 1943, Ending October 31, 1944 - comprising the text of a letter to the Board of Supervisors, Suffolk County, New York, from LeRoy W. Ruland, President of the Suffolk County Mosquito Extermination Commission; Introduction (which begins, "At the outset it must be said that the activities of this Commission were considerably curtailed during the season just ended. In common with all employers of labor, both public and private, we have been subjected to all the disadvantages of labor dislocations incident to wartime. The proximity of defense plants and Army and Navy installations of various types has all but drained the area dry of labor.
